Youth Contests and Awards

Types of Youth Contests

NGC (National Garden Clubs, Inc.) sponsors several youth contests including the Smokey Bear & Woodsy Owl Poster Contest, Poetry Contest, and Youth Sculpture Contest applications, rules, deadlines, and application forms for these contests typically go through our state’s garden club organization (ffgc.org) via our garden club chairman. For further information, please contact the chairman.

Types of Awards

National Garden Clubs offers many educational opportunities through awards for youth at pre-school, elementary, middle, and high school levels. Youth Awards not only involve youth, families and community but also provide interactions with families. Whether it is growing flowers, vegetables, caring for plants, or helping their community, young people develop responsibility, a sense of accomplishment and self-confidence. The High School Distinguished Service Project Award recognizes outstanding high school students for civic projects helping the environment for grade 9-12 students. We encourage our members to invest in our Youth and apply for the Youth Awards. Contact the WGC Youth Contest Chairman for further information.  View these links for details:  https://gardenclub.org/ngc-awards and https://ffgc.org/Awards.

Note:  Youth Contests and Youth Awards are different.
