Heathcote Botanical Gardens

210 Savannah Road, Ft. Pierce, FL

Heathcote is a treasure trove of horticultural, botanical, and ecological knowledge.  You will meander through numerous themed garden rooms. The rooms include: a butterfly garden, children’s garden, community garden, native plant & pioneer garden, herb garden, Japanese garden, rainforest, reflection garden, and a Bonsai Gallery.  Bonsai enthusiasts will be enthralled by the largest tropical bonsai collection in the USA.  Be sure to visit the gift shop.  There is not a cafe on location, so we will have bottled water available.

Cost:                $9.00 Guided Tour (if we use a private bus it’s an extra $20-30.00 per member)

Tours:              10:00 AM to 1:00 PM

Lunch:             If time allows, dine at a local restaurant.  Possibly the Tiki Bar, located on the banks of the Indian River and recommended by one of our long time members: http://www.originaltikibar.com/
