C.J. McCartney is a Master Gardener and vice president of the Palm Beach Native Plant Society. She has a passion for natural habitats and specialty gardens. She started creating wildlife areas that attracted various pollinators. As a community project, C.J. undertook creating a wildlife garden at a beachfront historical site that was designed and installed with recycled materials, propagated plants and donated items that won a statewide beautification award. She has written special features on outdoor living for a daily newspaper. Writing these features for several years gave her access to some of the brightest and most knowledgeable people in the country involved in the outdoor environment. C.J. continues to learn, speak and write about outdoor living while still experimenting with creating habitats that are in harmony with the environment.
